After years without a bakery Spring Lake is finally getting one. The Village Baker is scheduled to open soon. And by the looks of their specialty rolls it will be well worth the wait. The Village Baker is located on Savage Street next to Rite Aid.

I am going to this wine tasting event (April 13th) and can't wait to taste the great appetizers. I have had the Forest Mushrooms appetizer several times before and it is to die for! Pricey at  $9.95 but really fabulous!!
Shiitake, cremini mushrooms, leeks, garlic brandy cream, truffle salt and crostinis.

Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Seven Steps Up Event & Banquet Center

Seven Steps Up Event & Banquet Center in Spring Lake will celebrate its grand opening on Wednesday, March 30, 2011. The Chamber of Commerce and local Spring Lake Village officials will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:30pm, followed by an open house from 5pm to 8pm. The public is welcome to attend.

“We’re excited to finally host our grand opening after working out a few kinks over the last few months,” said co-owner, Michelle Hanks. “We delighted that our affiliated caterers will be joining us and serving up free samples of their food to the public.” 

The evening will feature five caterers from the area: Consider It Done/Desserts by Design, Porto Bello, and Anthony’s Kicked Up Catering from Grand Haven. From Muskegon, Ryke’s Catering and Bakery, and Hearthstone Restaurant will participate.

VanderFest 2010

Spring Lake, MI - Vander Mill Cider Mill & Winery will be hosting their first annual VanderFest on Saturday, October 9th. The festival will feature fall craft beer and cider as well as local restaurateurs showcasing new products with a fall theme.

All proceeds for the event will go to the Grand Haven Chapter of Ambucs. Ambucus is a non-profit organization who's focus is "Creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities."

Vegan Uncooking

GRAND HAVEN, Michigan – Socks Beachum from the Health Hutt wiil demonstrate and prepare the latest vegan recipes and techniques at the Loutit District Library on October 7 at 7:00 p.m. in Program Room A.
