Grand Haven, Mich., November 7, 2011: From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, November 18th, Grand Haven will be abuzz with holiday cheer as Washington Avenue is brightened by brand new Christmas luminaries and holiday lights.

There will be live music throughout the night played by WGHN.  Students from Lakeshore Christian Academy will be performing Christmas carols from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. And, participating stores will host holiday open houses with special promotions and excellent ideas for gifts on anyone’s list.

According to Dana Kollewehr, director, Grand Haven Main Street DDA, Light Night is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season.

“We are so excited to host the 3rd Annual Light Night with the help of local businesses and florists: Euroflora, City Farmer, Grand Haven Garden House and the Boy Scouts who will be selling fresh greenery and taking orders to brighten up your home during Christmas,” said Kollewehr. “There is truly something for everyone on your shopping list in downtown.”

In addition, free Light Night commemorative mugs filled with cider from Vander Mill will be given to the first 400 guests who arrive.
