The event, called a "Home-Raising", will be held at the Education Service Center (ESC) on January 12 from 3:00 to 5:00 for the Lamadline Family. Those who are interested in helping the family are asked to purchase an item from their registry at Walmart and bring it to the ESC gathering on January 12 - where the family will be in attendance. After a week and a half of campaigning, poster-making and giving speeches, St. Mary’s Parish School has elected its 2010-2011 Student Council Officers.

The student council meets every other week and performs many, many service projects throughout the year.  Projects and fundraisers for the school year include ongoing food drives, the annual poinsettia sale, “Adopt A Family” for Christmas, operating the school store, purchasing materials to create a school mascot costume, and sponsoring a “Feed America” truck.

The following officers - seated in the front row - were elected by their fellow students: President:  Sam Ventocilla, Seventh grade; Vice President:  Nicole Davis, eighth grade; Secretary:  Hailee McKenna, eighth grade; Treasurer:  Molly Conroy, eighth; and Sergeant at Arms:  Zack Penrice, fifth grade.
