Spring Lake, MI-The Friends of Spring Lake District Library are now selling Entertainment Coupon Books as part of their annual fund raising efforts. The 2013 Coupon Book contains a variety of new local and national coupons, exclusive buy one, get one free offers, up to 50% off coupons that are valid until November 2013, and access to mobile coupons with the Entertainment Mobile App. In additions to restaurant coupons, the book also contains coupons for shopping, travel, services, and entertainment.

Proceeds from the sales will benefit the Friends who support library activities such as the popular summer and winter reading programs, as well as the movie, magazine, and rental book collections.

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. -- The public is invited to a free seminar titled  “Savvy Social Security Planning” at the Loutit District Library (LDL) on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. presented by Brian Gerrans, a financial advisor from Waddell & Reed.

The seminar begins with the most asked questions people ask regarding Social Security such as: will Social Security be around upon retirement, how much can one expect to receive, when to apply for Social Security, how to maximize benefits, will Social Security be enough to live on in retirement.

Entertainment Coupon Books may be purchased for $30 each at Spring Lake District Library located at 123 E. Exchange Street in Spring Lake and Leppink's Food Center, which is located at 17717 174th Avenue in Ferrysburg.

Loutit District Library taking reservations for housing assistance program

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – Homeowners needing help in retaining ownership of their home can join certified housing counselors Char Seise and Lynne Balkema, from the City of Grand Haven, for an explanation of the State of Michigan’s “Help for Hardest Homeowners” program on June 13 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in Loutit District Library’s Computer Classroom.

Seise and Balkema will be available to answer questions and help families apply for assistance immediately. The City of Grand Haven is a MSHDA/HUD certified housing counseling agency, providing homebuyer education classes, and foreclosure prevention services to Ottawa County residents. This program is free; however attendees must register at www.loutitlibrary.org.  Private appointments are available upon request.
