Meet Clifford at Loutit District Library's birthday party for Lily

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. -- What could be more fun than reading a good book? Reading a book with a big, cuddly dog on its eighth birthday,  with a special guest.

Kids will have a chance to read with--and to-- a BFD (that stands for big friendly dog)  when Lily comes to Loutit District Library on June 8.  From 10:30 a.m. to noon, Lily will celebrate her birthday with Clifford the Big Red Dog. Treats will be available for kids.  They can also take one home to their dog, thanks to the Must Love Dogs store in Grand Haven. The party also includes a craft for the kids.

Lily is an American Kennel Club (AKC) registered New Foundland who lives with Char Nash of Grand Haven. Lily has earned certifications as a therapy dog and as a crisis response dog.

The birthday celebration is free and will be held in the LDL's youth program room. Donations will be accepted for Puppy Breath Rescue of Grand Haven.
