Grand Haven businesses to launch Try It Local | News

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WZZM) - The Chamber of Commerce for Grand Haven, Spring Lake and Ferrysburg is launching a new program called Try It Local, an electronic discount program featuring local retailers, restaurants and service providers.

Lakeshore business leaders hope a new initiative can provide a boost to local businesses. "Try it Local" launches next week, using an online voucher system to provide deals to customers who sign up.

Tri-cities area Chamber Event Coordinator Courtney Olson says a new discount campaign is such a great fit for the area.

"Everybody that we've talked to is really excited about it," Olson said. "They've been watching for things like this cause new technology and new programs are always popping up. This could help get notification and marketing out there to a bigger audience."

New deals are offered two days a week at discounts from 40% to 90% off. The offers are delivered to Try It Local subscribers via email, social media, and TryItLocal.com. Olson says there is no cost to either the participating businesses or shoppers.
