GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (Grand Haven Tribune)- Grand Haven
West Michigan race promoter Charles Steen is making the rubber meet the road when it comes to determining if an auto racing event could be held in Grand Haven in the next several years.

Steen, a Wyoming resident, is planning a community design meeting for his proposed event. It will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22, in the Mackinaw Room of the Grand Haven Community Center, 421 Columbus Ave., from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"It's the starting point as far as getting the community together and giving them the opportunity to give input on the downtown street circuit," he said.

During the meeting, the community will be able to hear from Steen about his plans, and also sit down and work in small groups to come up with different route ideas for the proposed race. It will be open to the public.
