Grand Haven leaders approve backyard chickens
News

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WZZM) -- People living in Grand Haven are now allowed to have chickens in their backyards.

Our partner, the Grand Haven Tribune, reports the city council unanimously approved the new ordinance Monday night.

It allows only single family home to have chickens and also requires the chickens be kept in the backyard at all times in a permanent enclosure.

The new ordinance limits the number of chickens a family can have to four and roosters are not allowed.

It goes into effect in 20 days.
