Man, 84, seriously injured in Grand Haven crash

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WZZM) -- Northbound U.S. 31 has reopened at Comstock St. in Grand Haven after a serious injury accident.

The accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at U.S. 31 and Robbins Road. The road was closed until 10:30 a.m.

Police on scene tell WZZM 13 an 84-year-old man exited Southtown Car Wash, drove over the curb and crossed through U.S. 31 where he was hit by a landscaping truck.

After speaking with witnesses, police think the man may have suffered from a medical condition, as his head was seen down at the time of the crash.

The West Olive man was taken from the scene by AeroMed. His condition is unknown at this time.

No one else was injured in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
