GRAND HAVEN, Mich.-- Grand Haven High School has begun its internal search for a new varsity football coach.
Current coach Mike Farley announced late last month that he is leaving for a coaching and teaching position in South Effingham High School in Georgia.
"We are sad to see Mike leave," Grand Haven High School principal Tracy Wilson said. "At the same time, though, we are very excited for this new opportunity for him and his family."
Farley led the Buccaneers to a 44-32 record during his eight years as varsity coach. In 2009 and 2010, the team had two of its best back-to-back football seasons in school history, going 17-4.
