GHAPS Planetarium to host 'International Observe the Moon Night'

GRAND HAVEN, Mich.-- Grand Haven Area Public Schools will present "International Observe the Moon Night" at the White Pines Middle School Planetarium on Thursday, October 17.

A 15-minute planetarium show is free and runs repeatedly from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event is hosted by planetarium instructor George Jaeger, with professional storyteller Amy Wisner. Several hands-on and informational activities concerning the moon and lunar exploration will also be available in the school.

Right outside White Pines Middle School, Grand Valley State University Professor Dr. Doug Furton will lead  telescopic viewing of the moon and other celestial objects during the open house, weather permitting. This is an all-ages event and families are encouraged to attend.
