The Buzz About Bees in Holland

See a live colony of Bees at the DeGraaf Nature Center in Holland, MI. on Saturday, August 3rd at 2:00pm.

The Nature Center has a glass-sided observation beehive that is very popular with visitors. There you can watch the honey bees go about their very busy lives. This time of year, the bees are very active gatherering nectar to make honey for the winter months ahead. It's fun to find the queen as she lays her eggs.

Come and join beekeeper, Rob Venner and learn about the social lives of the Honeybees and how important pollinators are to our local farmers. Honey samples will be provided.

A fee of $3.00 per person is charged. Free for Friends of De Graaf. Please call to register at 616-355-1057 or e-mail: degraafnaturecenter@cityofholland.com

The Nature Center is located at 600 Graafschap Rd. in Holland, MI 49423. For a map and directions, go to www.degraaf.org
