Church hosts information sessions to protect seniors September 10

GRAND HAVEN, Mich.—United Methodist Church of the Dunes will host attorney general Bill Schuette’s Senior Brigade programs to help seniors and others interested in becoming knowledgeable about online safety and identity theft.

The free programs will be held Tuesday, September 10 from 1 p.m.  to 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The general public is invited to attend.  Program attendees can expect to learn the following information:

  • How a person can recognize and avoid identity theft
  • How thieves steal and what they do with stolen identities
  • How individuals can protect themselves and what to do if an individual becomes a victim
  • Top online safety topics
  • Basic computer security measures
  • Helpful online resources
  • Online safety tips
