"Recycle. Grand Haven." Fundraising Drive Kick-Off

"Recycle. Grand Haven." Fundraising Drive Kick-Off

You have viewed beautiful Lake Michigan, walked the sandy beaches, and journeyed to the end of the pier.  You have observed the daily catch and admired the parade of boats.  The scenery is beautiful.  Trekking the boardwalk on your way to find lunch, you take the last swig of your refreshment and realize you have….NO PLACE TO RECYCLE YOUR CAN OR BOTTLE?!?  “Recycle. Grand Haven.” has officially kicked off its fundraising drive!  This community project is being organized by professionals in the 2010/2011 Chamber of Commerce Leadership Connect class.  Funds raised will be used for the installation of recycling bins and new trash containers along the Grand Haven boardwalk to allow for the recycling of plastic bottles and cans.

Although trash receptacles are available along the waterfront, no containers currently exist for recycling plastic bottles and aluminum cans.
