Community Shred Day


Kent Record Management is willing to help the community protect their identity by shredding personal documents, as well as protecting & preserving the environment on Saturday, April 23.

The community is invited to bring up to 100 pounds of paper per person for FREE from 11:00am - 12:00pm to the Library located at 125 E. Exchange in Spring Lake, Michigan 49456. The papers will not be shredded at the library but Kent Record Maagement will securely transport them & shred them at their plant for recycling.

Free Fishing Weekend Coming Up

For the Valentine’s weekend, it’s a free fishing weekend for residents and out of state visitors.

All fishing license fees are waived for two days in Michigan, February 13 & 14 from 6:00am – 10:00pm. This allows fishing enthusiasts to enjoy the chance to catch all types of fish on both inland and Great Lakes’ waters during their respective open season. Just remember that all regulations still apply.

Winter Blues Snowshoeing

Winter Blues Snowshoeing

To break up these long winter months, the community, ages 12 & up are invited to the Ottawa County Park located at 8115 West Olive Road in West Olive to take part in a free guided snowshoe walk. Get some great exercise and meet fresh faces while enjoying winters wonderland on Monday, February 8 from 1:00pm-2:30pm.

Snowshoe rental is available at $5 to be worn with your own boots, unless you have your own snowshoes. A winter hike will substitute the walk if weather conditions are not favorable.

Brann’s is offering a free 6oz.  Sirloin and two sides on Veteran’s Day, Wednesday, November 11th.

Bob Evans-Free Breakfast all day for Veteran’s and Active Military. Choose from 5 different plates.

Golden Coral-Appreciation for Veterans and Active Military: Dinner is free November 11th from 5 – 9pm.

Applebee’s will be serving 7 different free meals to Veterans and Active Military on Wednesday, November 11th.

Red Robin Restaurants will be offering a free Tavern Double Berger with Bottomless Steak Fries at all of its restaurants on November 11th. They will also be offering a 20% discount at participating restaurants from November 12 – December 31.

Red Lobster is offering a free appetizer and dessert from Monday, November 09, 2015 to Thursday, November 12. They have put together a special menu for both items.

Annual Community Wellness & Massage Expo Returns

The community is invited to this 5th Annual Expo to learn of many healthy options.

Discover the importance of preventative maintenance and total body wellness during this Expo. There will be free massages given by West Michigan Massage Therapists from 11am - 2pm, free yoga with Jane Donnelly at 11:30am and free Tai Chi with Marcia Geissinger at 1pm, along with many health professionals.

The community is invited to walk to numerous venues on Washington Avenue, Seventh Street, Third Street, North Harbor to name a few, for a glimpse of incredible works of art.

The Grand Haven ArtWalk began September 23 & follows through October 11. There will be daily public judging & juried voting, evening soirees, street parties with free food, live music & so much more.

It is Festival Time once again at St. Joseph’s Church in Wright Township on Sunday, August 9, 2015  from 12 Noon until 5:00pm.

A great Country Style BBQ Chicken Dinner will be served from Noon until 4:00pm. Dinner is $8.00 for Adults and $5.00 for Children ages 5 – 12 years of age. Under 5 will eat FREE!

Along with live music, there will be games for children through teenagers, a Grand Raffle, quilt and mini raffles, craft booths, bake sale, a grocery wheel with home grown produce as prizes and a Vegas Tent.  A little bit for everyone!
