Saint Mary's School to honor student achievers at Athletic Banquet, Spelling Bee, Talent Show

Saint Mary’s Parish School will be placing the spotlight on student achievers at the upcoming Athletic Banquet, Spelling Bee, and Talent Show May 16, 17 and 19 in Saint Mary’s Activity Center, located at 421 east Exchange Street in Spring Lake.

The annual Athletic Banquet will be held Monday, May 16 at 6 p.m.  Dinner consisting of pizza and dessert will be served at 6:15 p.m., followed by the awards presentation at 6:30 p.m.

The annual and very popular Spelling Bee will pit students against some of the toughest words in print on Tuesday, May 17 at 6:30 p.m.

A spring Talent Show will showcase performances by students from all grades at Saint Mary’s School on Thursday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m.  All performers will provide their own music and props.  Student Council members are putting the production together to feature students with a variety of acts to share.

Saint Mary’s Parish School is fully-accredited by the Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools.  Over 180 students are enrolled at Saint Mary’s Parish School in first-through-eighth grade.

Saint Mary’s Catholic Church has served the community for 140 years.  The mission of Saint Mary’s Parish reads:  Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Catholic Christian Community of Saint Mary dedicate ourselves to living the Good News of Jesus Christ, primarily through worship, education, love and service to all.  Father Dan DePew serves as parish priest for the Saint Mary’s School and church.  Mike Devitt serves as principal of Saint Mary’s Parish School.
