My Town: Police call on public to stuff a 'blue goose'

WYOMING, Mich.-- While many people will be stuffing turkeys and chickens this Christmas, Michigan State Police are getting ready to stuff a blue goose, with the community's help.

The blue goose is actually a Michigan State Police patrol car, and the stuffing isn't made of bread.  Troopers are collecting new toys, clothing and non-perishable foods to fill the vehicle.  The donations will be turned over to the Salvation Army for distribution to Kent County and Ottawa County families in need.

Two patrol cars will be parked at the Wal-Mart stores in Grand Haven and Wyoming on Dec. 14.  Troopers will be collecting donations from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.
