2nd Annual Katty Shack 5K to honor Wright murder victims

To honor the four victims of the 2008 Wright Township murders committed by Troy Brake, the 2nd Annual Katty Shack 5K is scheduled this year for Saturday, April 30 in Grand Haven! Last year the mother, Natalie Kick-Brown of one of the victims, Katherine Brown started this annual 5K in Katherine's honor. Friend's called Katherine, "Katty Shack" where the name of the 5K originated. A 5K walk & 1-mile run/walk are offered, as well as the 5K run, giving individuals of all ages and physical abilities the chance to participate. The race begins at 9am at the First Presbyterian Church at 508 Franklin Street in Grand Haven, Michigan.

Friday, April 29 a pre-race Spaghetti Dinner & Fitness Expo will take place at St. Patrick's Family Center at 920 Fulton St. in Grand Haven, Michigan from 4pm-7pm, along with an endorsement by the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports.

More than 400 people turned out for this 5K last year to help raise support & funds for the Crime Victims' Foundation. Families of all ages, experienced or inexperienced walker's/runner's are encouraged to join this event.
