GRAND HAVEN, Mich. –  Varnum attorney Dean Reisner has been appointed to the board of directors for the chamber of commerce for Grand Haven, Spring Lake and Ferrysburg.

Reisner is a partner in the firm's corporate and estate planning practice teams. He concentrates his practice on business transactional matters, general corporate work, real estate acquisition, sales and development, estate planning and agricultural law.

"I am honored to be selected to serve on the board of directors for the chamber," said Reisner. "I look forward to working with and serving the businesses and community in North Ottawa County and West Michigan."

In addition to serving on the public policy committee for the Grand Haven Chamber of Commerce, Reisner is president and a member of the board of directors for the North Ottawa Rod and Gun Club Foundation.

My Town Grand Haven: Boot Camp fundraiser 'a great success'

GRAND HAVEN, Mich.—  Organizers of the Robinson Elementary Health Week and Boot Camp fundraiser now say participants raised more than $6,000 for materials, programs and activities for the school.

We had about 360 kids run the course the day of boot camp, 50 volunteers, 65 kids pledged to "unplug" for the week, over 60 sponsors and we raised over $6000!!!  It was a great success and the kids had a blast!!.

Organized by the school PTA, the May 9 event was the culmination of a week of activities at the school, in partnership with the NFL Play 60 team and North Ottawa Medical Group.

MUSKEGON, Mich.—Approximately 90 businesses will be looking for employees during the Muskegon Veterans Job Fair this Friday, May 16.

The hiring event will take place on the U.S.S. LST 393 Veterans Museum Ship, docked at 560 Mart Street in Muskegon.  This is the third year for the event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Job openings range from engineering to grocery store cashiers.  Participating businesses include:

MUSKEGON, Mich.—For the second year in a row, Carmichael Heating & Air Conditioning, a West Michigan-based heating and cooling business, was recognized at the Bryant Heating & Cooling Systems annual dealer meeting with a Tier 1 Medal of Excellence (MOE) Award.

The MOE award is a business enrichment program specifically designed to recognize Bryant dealers like Carmichael Heating & Air Conditioning  that do “whatever it takes” to improve their business.  The decision to honor a Bryant dealer with the MOE distinction is based on their sales growth, product mix, and customer satisfaction.  Additional criteria such as their dealer program utilization and the company’s self-assessment are also taken into consideration.

West Michigan Roofing & Construction’s newest branch is located at 3736 West River Drive NE in Comstock Park.  The new location is managed by Edward Macklin III and Joseph Waldner.
