GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-- Varnum is pleased to announce the addition of three experienced attorneys to the firm.

Charles F. Gray and Adam M. Linkner have joined the firm's Metro Detroit office, and Eric R. Post has joined the firm's office in Grand Rapids.

Gray is an intellectual property lawyer with significant experience drafting and prosecuting patents in various fields, including the automotive and medical industries. He is also experienced in trademark prosecution, IP litigation, and drafting software, trademark and patent license agreements. He joins the firm from McDonald Hopkins LLC. Prior to his legal career, he worked as an electrical engineer at Herman Miller, Inc.

SPRING LAKE, Mich. Shoreline Sport & Spine plans to reveal a new name December 10 and encourages the community to enter a contest on its Facebook page  to guess the new name for a chance to win a prize.

People can share their thoughts on the Shoreline Sport & Spine Facebook page at www.facebook.com/S3PhysicalTherapy by liking the page and posting a guess of the new name. The person who comes closest to guessing the new name will win a free adult fitness class membership. Individuals can also cast their guess on Twitter by tweeting with the hashtag #S3NewName.

Owners Dave Van Andel and Marty Sytsema said the name change represents a new opportunity to communicate the full scope of services Shoreline Sport & Spine now provides.

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. - Loutit District Library continues its year-long centennial celebration on Thursday, Nov. 13 with Fortino’s owner Margaret Michlitsch with her program titled A Journey from Italy to Grand Haven: The Fortino’s Story

.Michlitsch's program will reveal her family’s struggles to arrive in America, along with the support and friendship they found in Grand Haven for over 100 years to develop and maintain the family business.

Accompanying Michlitsche’s discussion will be Kelly Larson, owner of Sweet Temptations. Everyone in attendance will receive complementary roasted peanuts from Fortinos.

This free program will be held in LDL’s upper level lobby from 7-8:30 p.m.

WOMEN IN THE LAW” BY MICHIGAN LAWYERS WEEKLY

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – WMU-Cooley Law School Assistant Dean and Associate Professor Tracey Brame was chosen by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as one of its 30 Women in the Law in 2014 and honored at a September 11 luncheon in Troy, Mich. The Women in the Law program is dedicated to saluting high-achieving women lawyers in Michigan and their accomplishments.

Dean Brame came to WMU-Cooley Law School in February 2006 from Legal Aid of Western Michigan, where she was a staff attorney. When she joined the law school, she advised and represented low-income clients on family law, housing, and consumer law issues.

GRAND HAVEN, MICH., SEPT. 18, 2014―In observance of United Nations’ “International Day of Peace” worldwide, the general public is invited to a local observance at St. Patrick―St. Anthony Parish to join in the dedication of a hand-crafted Peace Pole on Sunday, September 21st at 4 p.m. on the outdoor south side of the church, at 920 Fulton Avenue in Grand Haven.

“Pope Francis has asked all people to observe the upcoming International Day of Peace no matter whether they attend church or not and we welcome anyone who is interested to join us as we dedicate this long-lasting monument to peace,” said Sally Moser, an International Day of Peace event organizer with St. Patrick-St.
