February 22 Tuesday Forum to address “A Balanced, Affordable Energy Policy”

Grand Haven, Michigan – The Chamber  Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg will kick off its 2011 Tuesday Forum Public Awareness Series breakfast on Tuesday, February 22 with a presentation on the topic of “A Balanced, Affordable Energy Policy” from 7:30 am to 9:30 am at the Grand Haven Community Center.

The featured speaker for this event is Steven Transeth, principal partner of the Lansing law firm Transeth & Associates, which spe­cializes in providing legal and consulting services on energy issues. He is a former member of the Michigan Public Service Commission. During his tenure on the commission he served on various national committees including the gas and nuclear committees of the National Asso­ciation of Regulatory Utility Commissioners. He was also very active in developing the current national policy involving electricity transmission. Prior to his appointment to the commission he served for over twenty years as Legal Counsel and Assistant Director of the Legal Division for the Michigan Legislature where he specialized in energy and public utility issues. During that period he was the lead drafter of every major piece of energy legislation enacted into law.  Grand Haven Board of Light and Power is the sponsor.
