In this session, VanOosterhout will help participants sort the fact from hype in search optimization.  He will explain the process search engines use to collect web data and assess that data for ranking and categorization purposes. Topics will include how web site structure, keyword inclusion, incoming links and overall content impacts top search engine rankings. Attendees will leave with the tools they need to begin optimizing their web site for higher rankings and more site traffic.

VanOosterhout has 17 years of experience helping organizations across the United States build effective eBusiness operations. His experience includes work with all types of businesses from sole proprietorships to multi-billion-dollar corporations and a broad portfolio of non-profits. In addition to his consulting work he is a full-time faculty member at Muskegon Community College where he leads their Web development degree program.
