Special Edition Sand Sculpture Contest T-Shirts

Special Edition Sand Sculpture Contest T-Shirts

The 30th Annual Sand Sculpture Contest will take place on Saturday, June 25th from 9am-12pm.  Grand Haven City Beach will be transformed into a world-class outdoor sandbox as dozens of teams and hundreds of participates form masterpieces out of sand.

“30 years of Sand Sculpture Contest is really something to celebrate,” Courtney Olson, Sand Sculpture Contest Coordinator commented, “we didn’t want it to go unnoticed.”  To prevent this from happening, Olson held a Sand Sculpture Slogan Contest in April where the winning slogan would be printed on special edition 30th Annual T-Shirts.  Numerous entries were submitted, and the winner was chosen, Come Share Our Sandbox.  “Kit Silvis of Grand Haven submitted this entry.  The committee thought it captured the spirit of the Sand Sculpture Contest and our community.  When I spoke with Kit to tell her she had won, she told me she was thinking of two things at once – finding a slogan for the contest and purchasing her three grandchildren a new sandbox.  ‘The two just came together,’ she told me,” Olson relayed.
