The Village Council of the Village of Spring Lake is looking for three interested Village of Spring Lake residents wanting to serve on the Village Historic Conservation Commission. The terms of the appointments will be: two through February 2013 and one through February 2014. The Historic Conservation Commission meets once a month for approximately one hour. The Commission processes designations of historic landmarks in the Village and provides educational programs on the history of the area as well as other historic preservation work. They organize and host the annual Spring Lake Wooden Boat Show and are currently working on a calendar using historic Village postcards.

There are also two openings on the Central Business District Development Authority (CBDDA). The CBDDA is responsible for the maintenance of the Village of Spring Lake Development Plan and Tax Increment Financing Plan and the use of the tax increment financing revenues on projects identified in the Development Plan. The CBDDA has been charged with the mission of constructing public improvements required to attract private investment and promote retail, commercial and industrial business activity in the Village of Spring Lake's Central Business District development area. The CBDDA usually meets for one hour a month on a Thursday morning.

Deadline for submitting an application is March 15, 2011. Village Council will interview candidates at the March 21, 2011 Village Council Meeting.
