GRAND HAVEN, MI -- Grand Haven High School Choral Ensemble will perform on December 11 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. as the Loutit District Library continues its free Sunday Afternoon Concert Series.

‘Songs For A Better World’ is the theme for the Grand Haven High School Choirs 2011-2012 school year. Choral Ensemble carries that theme grandly with songs like ‘For The Sake of Our Children’, ‘Oh What A Beautiful City’, ‘Song of Peace’, ‘It Takes A Whole Village’ and ‘Be Thou My Vision.’ 

Choral Ensemble, the premier choir of the high school is made up of 24 highly talented junior and senior boys and girls. They share their talents with many groups around the community during the December season.

Members of the group are: Jesse Abramowski, Ben Bailey, Courtney Bedrosian, Drew Boyd, Brooke Denslow, Cassidy Elzinga, Brittany Gundy, Jake Jager, Ashley Klaassen, Colin LaMore, Hugo Lawton, Myrtle Lemon, Trevor Mezzo, Spencer Mulligan, Mike Perry, Alexa Redick, Lucas Roetter, Libbie Schippers, Erin Schippers, Kaeding Skelton, Peter Srutwa, Cassondra Takas, Darren Tiles and Breezy VanderLaan

The Grand Haven High School Choral Ensemble, under the direction of Shirley Lemon and accompanist Arlene Warners, has been rated one of the top ten ensembles in the state of Michigan ten times in the past 20 years. They have 22 years of superior rating at both the District and State Solo and Ensemble Festival they are one of seven performing choirs at the high school.

Loutit District Library is located at 407 Columbus Avenue in Grand Haven, Michigan. The library serves 35,510 residents of the City of Grand Haven, the City of Ferrysburg, Grand Haven Charter Township, Robinson Township and that part of Port Sheldon Township in the Grand Haven Area Public School District.
