GRAND HAVEN, Mich. -- Loutit District Library's Sunday Afternoon Concert Series continues on Jan. 11 as Grand Haven Area High School's fiddle group, GOTAK, presents an afternoon of foot-stomping traditional Celtic music.

GOTAK is an after-school alternative string ensemble founded in 2005 by high school orchestra director Melissa Meyers. Under her leadership, GOTAK has grown to more than 20 members and has had the privilege of working with alternative string directors such as Bob Phillips and Tim Staudacher. The group has also performed with traditional Celtic bands Kennedy’s Kitchen and Uneven Ground.

The concert is free and begins at 2 p.m. on the library’s upper level lobby. Library officials urged the public to come early due to limited seating. LDL opens at 1p.m. on Sundays.

Funding for LDL’s 2014-15 Sunday Concert Series is generously provided by the Matilda and Harold Crane Donor Advised Fund of the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation.
