GRAND HAVEN, Mich. -- Author David Burch presents his life story of self transformation from abuse, poverty and tragedy in "Pocket Full of Dreams" on Thursday, June 26 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Loutit District Library.

In "Pocket Full of Dreams", Burch shares his heartbreaking but ultimately triumphant story. Readers will be profoundly affected by his courage and resolve - and inspired to overcome challenges they may be facing in their own lives.

Over the years, Burch had been encouraged by others to share his story. On Feb. 22, 2011, the day before his 50th birthday, he began to write.

“Like Forrest Gump, I just started running and did not stop,” Burch says.

Burch hopes that others, especially young adults who struggle with confidence or feelings of inadequacy, will read his book and be inspired to take charge and make changes in their lives.

“I hope people will understand that attitude is huge,” Burch says. “Life is 10 percent what happens to you  and 90 percent how you react.”

The program is free and will be held in LDL’s Program Room A. For more information, visit LDL’s website, www.loutitlibrary.org.
