GRAND HAVEN, Mich.— The Fire Barn Gallery is tapping some of the youngest community artists to fill the walls of its latest exhibit.

“Past Present and Future- A Children’s Show” will feature work by Grand Haven area students, from kindergarten up to sixth grade.  Each piece will feature either a past, present or future theme.

"When I consider the difference between the art of children and that of adults, my first thought is the inhibition factor.  I think that witnessing that kind of uninhibited expression, and the totally unique form it takes, is something that resonates with a lot of us," says Chris Protas, director and curator of the Fire Barn Gallery.

All art submissions should be 2D, 30” or smaller, unframed and include contact information on the back. Work can be dropped off at the gallery March 23, 24 or 25 between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Children can also create a drawing on the wall of the gallery on March 22 and March 23 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.  Materials will be provided.  Merit awards will be given out during the show’s opening, Thursday, March 27 at 6 p.m.

“Past Present and Future- A Children’s Show” The show, sponsored by J. Morgan Jewelers Ltd., runs through April 11.
