GRAND HAVEN, Mich. -- The Loutit District Library is accepting registrations for a primitive doll workshop taught by local artist Mary Sundstrom on Saturday, March 22 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in LDL’s Program Room A.

Experience homespun dolls of the late 19th century and beyond. Learn about the history of doll making in early America. In the past, most dolls were made at home with items found around the house. Everything was repurposed.

Have a day of fun learning as Mary Sundstrom demonstrates how to carve apple head dolls, sew simple rag dolls, and tie corn husk dolls. Bring a lunch, or plan on a 45-minute lunchbreak.

A $10 material fee upon is due upon registration, payable in the public computing center. Students must register at the public computing desk in the library.
