GRAND HAVEN, Mich. -- Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies Director Gleaves Whitney will moderate what promises to be an entertaining and enlightening conversation with three presidential re-enactors on August 22.

The 7 p.m. program titled ‘An Evening with the Presidents’ is free and open to the public, but registration is required. The program, featuring re-enactments of Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Ronald Regan, will be interpreted in American Sign Language (ASL). Thomas Jefferson re-enactor Bill Barker last appeared in Grand Haven as Jefferson in 2010 for the performance of ‘Jefferson & Adams: A Stage Play.’ Barker first started impersonating Jefferson in 1984 for an appearance at Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Chuck Chalberg is a seasoned impersonator whose oldest impression is of Theodore Roosevelt. Paddy Morrissey has been impersonating Ronald Reagan since 1981 and performed at the 1984 Democratic Convention.

‘An Evening with the Presidents’  will take place at the Grand Haven High School’s Performing Arts Center, 17001 Ferris in Grand Haven.  The program is sponsored by the Hausenstein Center for Presidential Studies, Loutit District Library, and Grand Haven Area Public Schools with help from the Tri-Cities Historical Museum.
