Spring Lake Snow Bank Push Back Operation
Spring Lake Snow Bank Push Back Operation

Important notice from the Village of Spring Lake:

For only the second time in half a dozen years, on Thursday morning, February 3rd, the Village of Spring Lake Department of Public Works will be conducting a street widening operation by pushing snow off the roadways, over the curb line and onto the lawn right-of-way areas.  The DPW Crews will be addressing this need from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Thursday morning.

This activity is necessary to combat the narrowing of the Village’s roadways that is an outcome of non-stop snow accumulation.  This widening operation is intended to ensure that fire trucks, sanitation vehicles, postal delivery vans and school buses can continue to use the streets and otherwise conduct their business safely, as well as to improve sight distance at intersections.

We ask homeowners to allow extra time Thursday morning to remove any snow that is incidentally pushed into driveways thereby.   There may be windrows up to three feet high in the right-of-way areas of your driveways.  You may need to plan on another thirty minutes to clear this unavoidable byproduct of clearing the public roadways.

We understand that this will be a major inconvenience to some and ask for your support during this difficult operation for the greater public safety and welfare.

Please let us know if any problems of an unforeseen nature occur by calling 616-638-8910 on Thursday.
