SPRING LAKE -- Colder weather is fast approaching, leading many to think about weatherizing their homes in order to reduce energy costs. Spring Lake District Library will be hosting a free Weatherization Education workshop on Monday, Nov. 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Ottawa County Community Action Agency will provide a licensed contractor who will show attendees simple, practical tips to reduce home energy needs and expenses.

The Ottawa County Community Action Agency provides a home weatherization program for eligible households in Ottawa County. Those who meet the program’s income requirements are provided with an inspection that determines what is needed to weatherize the home.  Licensed contractors then insulate, caulk, install weather stripping, and make minor repairs related to energy savings. To learn more about this program, call the Ottawa County Community Action Agency at     1 800 764-4111 ext. 4433.

To contact the library call (616) 846-5770, ext. 107.  The library is located at 123 E. Exchange Street in Spring Lake.
