GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM)- An accident in Grand Haven Township has sent two people to the hospital.

The crash happened on southbound U.S. 31 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The Ottawa County sheriff's department says 38-year-old Dale Johnson of St. Paul, Minnesota ran a red light at Ferris Street, hitting a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Kelli Brunette of Grand Haven.

The impact of the crash pinned Brunette inside her vehicle. Rescuers freed her and took her to North Ottawa Community Hospital with serious injuries. Her condition was stable Saturday night. Johnson was also taken to North Ottawa Community Hospital, where his condition was stable Saturday night.

The sheriff's department closed southbound U.S. 31 for 45 minutes to investigate and clean up the crash.
